The best amongst self help books ever written is 'Gita', which is read with reverence by the youth for centuries.
The great warrior, extremely ambitious, who possessed the only goal of winning over and attaining sovereignty, uttered the words of withdrawals. The situation turned complex. The warrior was in the battlefield, standing on the chariot with stretched bow aimed at his enemies, and suddenly talking capitulating words.
He said to his friend philosopher and guide, Lord Krishna, who was steering the charioteer, "Lord, I don't want to fight with my elders, brothers and gurus. I would prefer a royal retreat than to fight against my brethren."
Lord Krishna perceived the delicate situation of the youth that he had lost his confidence. He had been disparately panicked to see the team of such an experts throwing down the gauntlet. These combatants were backed by huge infantry, countless cavalry and troops of elephants.
All the excuses at once came to his mind as the means of escape.
Here Lord Krishna motivated him with a stimulant: Fight and win, or perish. He quoted several examples, saying, "These are not your brothers, who tried to burn your family to death, setting fire to house of wax where you were sleeping. They even did not spare your wife from molestation, trying to strip her at the assembly hall."
Fire which was about to extinguish in his heart was rekindled. And Arjuna, a leader of Pandwas won the battle against great and mighty Kourawas.
This is an inspirational book 'Gita', which is read with reverence by the youth for centuries. It is the first self help book written by Vyasa, the main doctrine of Gita is:
Do your work honestly
Leave the outcome to Him.
